July 15, 2015
Today the Red Cross Ohrid demonstrated their learned techniques and skills in salvage and rescue from drowning in still and fast waters in the Ohrid Harbor. The Macedonian Red Cross, branch Ohrid together with the instructors for water safety of the “Operation Florian” from the UK (http://www.operationflorian.com/) and the Ohrid Fire-fighter brigade organized a training course for rescue of drowning in fast waters from July 10 until July 14, 2015 in the river Black Drim in Struga. The lifeguard team was expanded by 8 fast water rescuers and 2 trainers, who will train new recruits in rescue in fast waters in future.
On occasion of this event German Healthcare Services donated new work wear (polo-shirts and shorts) to the recruits of the Red Cross Ohrid, Macedonia, so the lifeguards, first aid and life support teams can easily be recognized along the Ohrid lake coast.
